Where has the last month gone - oh ya, storms. Storms, storms more storms. And trying to work in between power outages.
Two weeks ago we had "beautiful to look at but deadly to power lines and trees" ice storm - lost the power for four days but even worse lost a lot of trees. None of the ones in my yard had to be totally cut down, but they're much smaller and I'm hoping they'll survive it - they've been there since I was a kid with a tire swing. Yesterday and today another storm, this time over a foot of snow and high winds. Another one coming on Wednesday. We are the magnetic north pole for storms!! Now there's something you don't want to be.
But in between my storms one of you rocked - ok, you all rocked but one of you will be singled out. Michelle, lovely Michelle, sent a box with presents she made herself - beautiful knitted hats and hairbands that are already getting a huge workout and looking lovely while they do it! And of course there was volcanic ash for Lane (he's taking it to school for show and tell) and Washington sand & shells for Asha (most of the sand is in my carpet now, mingling with the red Island sand). I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the lovely PETA stickers and the tsunami evacuation route sticker - I'm still trying to figure out the best way to mess with people with THOSE, heh. So Michelle, you made our storms seem a little better and much more fashionable :)
Other than that it's just been work, a little dating here and there (one really good horror story I'll save for another day), life - the usual stuff. Here are some pictures of the destruction so you'll all know why I don't invite you to visit in the winter.
